Playing ReBuy-in Tournaments

There are a couple of questions you need to ask yourself in terms of re-buying at poker tournaments. Should I re-buy and how often should I re-buy?

A re-buy is a point in a poker tournament where the players can buy more chips in order to add it to their stack they already have. The players do not have to have a low chip count as any player can re-buy if they wish. The positive aspect of the period of re-buying chips is the increasing pot size that comes with more chips on the table. If you are in a good position in the tournament you probably do not need to re-buy. Because many players have bought their way back into the game shouldn't worry you. If you are in a good position to be in front of these players that re-buy before the re-buy period it is more than likely that your game will be good enough to still stay in front off these players.

Generally for a tournament the re-buy will be a type of single or limited re-buy. Unlimited re-buys are also used sometimes with tournaments to buy your way back into the tournament or to increase the amount of chips you have.

When you make the decision to re-buy in a poker tournament there are a couple of factors that you need to consider before buying back in.

" The quality of the other players in the tournament - Was it the case that you among the best players in the tournament? Were you able to look at other players and their style and find out if it should have been those players that went out and not you? If this is the case then it is better that you re-buy and get back into the tournament. But if the players are better than you than you probably should not buy your way back in as there is more of a chance that will lose more money.

" Did you have bad luck when getting knocked out of the tournament? If you were knocked out by a bad beat as you had the right betting strategy it can be a good time to buy back in. If you stay with the right betting strategy you should be successful, but you should know that bad beats do happen.
