How To Play Razz

Razz Poker is also known as 7 card stud lo. The object of the game is the make the worst hand and you win! This game is a lot of fun but can also be incredibly frustrating as some of the Pro can attest to. Razz gained popularity during the 2004 WSOP.
Razz requires all players to ante up before the cards are dealt. Once all the cards are dealt exactly like 7 card stud it plays out much like 7 card stud with a twist.
The highest up card on the 3rd street is required to make the forced bring in bet. This forced bring in starts the action in the game. The lowest hand showing up on the table acts first but if there is a tie for lowest hand the first player clockwise from the dealer begins the betting action. After all the rounds are played and bet the lowest hand wins the pot. Aces are counted as low cards and flushes and straights are ignored. This means the best possible hand in Razz is Ace 2 3 4 5.
Because as a poker player we are use to always trying to create a strong hand, the element of lowest hand can be most frustrating. Once you get past the old school thought this can be a fun and profitable game.
