READING OTHER PLAYERS POKER TELLS AND WHAT TO LOOK FOR

When playing poker at a table there are many tells that you can look for with other players. When playing online it is different because you cannot see the players. But just because you can't see the player does not mean that they have no tells. Here are a few tells to look for when playing poker online.

Response speed - This is one of the biggest tells when playing online poker. You can look for players that take a while to check. This is a sign of a weak play and can tell you that the player is not holding a good hand. When trying to spot this tell make sure that you do not do this, as if your hand is not strong don't wait to check the bet.

Chit-Chat - Chatting is a part of playing online poker. But it is also a major tell. If a player is chatting all the time it can show weakness. Players like these can make the mistake of telling other players when they had after they folded. There is not a lot of time when you are playing poker online and if the person is chatting constantly they are not fully concentrating on the game. These types of players are generally not successful.

Do or Die - These are the types of poker players that play on a do-or-die basis and tend to go all in a lot of the time. This is especially the case in the beginning of poker tournaments. These types of players are easy to spot and easy to stop. What you should do is wait for a strong hand and then call their all-in bet. These types of layers tend not to last long on a table and especially in tournaments. If you see a player like this and nobody is checking them they can acquire a lot of chips and then only play when they have strong hands.

Lag Betting - This type of player is just the opposite of a do-or-die player. A player like this tries to see every hand for free but then folds when the betting begins, unless they have a strong hand. This is another online tell. When this type of player begins to bet, chances are, they have a strong hand. You should fold if you catch this, unless you have a strong hand as well.
