The global explosion in online gambling is going to see even more growth as the number of people that gamble by using their mobile devices is going to dramatically rise in the next five years. Mobile gambling has been very popular throughout Asia and Europe in the last few years and it is just starting to catch on in America.

One of the more popular forms of Internet betting in the last few years has been with sports betting. As consumers become accustomed to be able to place bets at any time of the day from wherever they are mobile gambling is the new wave in gambling. There has been a study by Juniper Research, which expects bets that are placed over mobile devices to exceed $23 billion dollars by the year 2011. Currently there are just over $2 billion taken in bets on mobile devices around the world.

The primary bet with mobile devices is with lotteries as more users can use their mobile devices for low stakes gaming. Juniper made the prediction that mobile lotteries will account for 41% of expenditures for mobile gambling within five years.

Juniper also predicted that with the advanced technology of mobile devices that have greater media and graphic capabilities the casino games will be more attractive to gamblers. Currently lotteries and sports betting make up most of the mobile gambling market but with all the online casinos that offer their same casino games in mobile form, the casino style games will make up a big share of the mobile gambling market in he next few years.

This gambling explosion has not caused everybody cause for celebration. Many believe that with the ease of mobile gambling that various gambling problems will also rise in the next few years. If gambling addicts can make bets from anywhere the temptation may be too great for them to resist, say some experts. Because of this there is talk about limited deposits or placing a time limit for how long the player can play, in terms of mobile gambling. Even with the problems that are foreseen with mobile gambling there is no stopping the new wave in global gambling.
