How To Play 5 Card Draw
5 Card Stud is one of the easiest poker games to learn. The number of players can vary from two to a maximum of ten.
The game begins with the dealer dealing each player one face down card. This card is referred to as the "Hole Card" or you're "Pocket Card". This card remains the unknown factor to opposing players in the game.
The next round of cards are dealt face up. Now that each player has one hole card and one face up card the first round of betting begins. The opening bet is started by the player with the highest ranked face up card on the table. Each player may either Call or Rise to stay in the game.
After all the bets are completed around the table, the dealer deals another face up card to the remaining players. After each player has received their third card another round of betting ensues starting with the player holding the highest ranking hand of the two up cards. This player has three choices he/she may drop out, check or bet. The remaining 5 card stud players may check the bet, raise the bet or fold their hands. After this round of betting is completed the dealer deals another up card to each player.
Each player now has 3 up cards and should be seeing a possible poker hand developing. The third round of betting begins with the remaining stud players. This round is exactly the same as the previous betting round. After this round of betting is completed the dealer then deals the 4th and final card face up to each of the remaining players. This betting round is the same as the previous betting rounds with the exception of that a player may choose to call instead of playing or staying. On completion of this betting round the remaining players turn over their hole card and the winner is determined based on who holds the highest ranked poker hand. The winner takes all!
